         My top 8 inspiring Gold Coast Wedding Venues abound between an ocean and a mountain range, country and beachside villages in the South to a bustling city in the North.  And in the middle of it all, is the stunning Gold Coast, beautiful one day, perfect the next.  An old cliché perhaps but so apt for a city that glows for at least 300 days of the year.  It offers never-ending choices, beauty and some truly amazing and talented wedding creators – all available in this coastal corner of the vast continent of Australia.
        &#xD;

         I love that ocean, garden, country, city and mountain venues are literally within 30kms of everywhere here on the Gold Coast!  It’s super convenient because nothing is too far away.  And that’s one of the aspects of @destinationgoldcoast that makes it so special and adds the plus factor.

         It’s big enough to provide many amazing wedding spaces and vendors but small enough that it doesn’t take hours in traffic on your big day for florists, the cake artist, the wedding planners and stylists, photographers and videographers to be on point and ……….  Your guests of course – not having to fight their way through hectic traffic at peak times.

         Your big day can be adventurous (think hot air balloon), serene and elegant (amazing five-star Hotels and Resorts) or outdoors anywhere between the majestic Pacific Ocean and the glorious mountains of the scenic rim.  You are totally spoilt for choice, to the point of overwhelm!

         My opinion of these venues has nothing to do with any link with them – financial or otherwise.  No money has or will change hands! They are purely my top 8 Gold Coast Venues in terms of their natural or man-made beauty, photographic appeal, aesthetics and romantic or fun vibe, because they inspire me as a Celebrant.  It’s so hard to limit the list – but giving you a list of 20 or 30 amazing Gold Coast venues kind of defeats the object!

         I love the high-ceilinged chapel with it’s antique wooden pews and signing table. The old-world charm gets me every time.  It’s perfect for an elegant, classic marriage ceremony and the fountains in the front of it add beautifully to the atmosphere.  I also love that couples can so easily convert to the other sites for a more rustic or boho styled wedding.  It’s spaces are varied and flexible, and Coolibah Downs is only 15 minutes from the centre of the Gold Coast. Location, location, location!

         This stunning garden wedding venue has the sweetest chapel onsite, a purpose-built, air-conditioned marquee for elegant affairs, and multiple other sites to choose from for your ceremony and reception. It’s on a 2-acre estate in the most beautiful, cool, green gardens. The lawn is literally manicured and can be used for the ceremony and your reception and there is also the Shed – a rustic undercover area with a bar.  The atmosphere here is like a vast country Estate but everything’s close and intimate.

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         On every occasion that I conduct a wedding at this stunning venue, I am surprised again by another sensational location tucked away somewhere.  Every ceremony option is breathtaking and beautiful. The stunning chapel, so exquisitely crafted, the magical outdoor garden gazebo where the sound of a trickling stream filters through, the Fountain Atrium, a gorgeous Pavilion and the Waterfall Grotto – an ahhhhh space – leave you with a sense of romance, tranquillity and intimacy. It’s truly magical and in terms of ambience, picture perfection, nature and features, it really is unbeatable. One of my faves on the Mountain.

         The Acre has a very special place in my heart. It was my niece’s preferred venue and although a little surprised at her choice initially, I was totally blown away by the space, the styling options, the food, the country rustic vibes and the authentic, very old barn!

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         The Acre Boomerang Farm has since been revamped and now boasts an internal bar, a covered decking area and a brand new Whiskey Bar.  It is private and secluded – and surrounded by extensive lawns that lead to a unique ceremony space – a beautiful deck with majestic, towering trees and a creek.  Fortunately, it has never rained when I have officiated a ceremony here.  I wonder if some canopy, other than the thick foliage, could be set up over the deck?

         Located in the Gold Coast Hinterland, this picturesque private estate is your all-in-one destination wedding venue with two ceremony locations (I think the open chapel is my first choice, or no maybe the deck with never-ending views, no, it’s definitely the chapel – I just don’t know!).  The vintage homestead is oh so homely and it’s relaxed atmosphere feels like a wonderful space for family and friends to come together to celebrate with you.  Something truly special about Austinvilla Estate is that it’s a photographers dream in terms of backdrops and the staff are lovely – so experienced and organised.
        &#xD;

         Choose to be surrounded by 8000 vines on the one side of the Homestead, or next to the gurgling creek under the majestic oaks on the other side, the choice is yours. There’s just something about a vineyard wedding.  I have to say, I am known to enjoy the delectable wines from this Vineyard, which makes tying the knot for each beautiful couple even more special! The white silk-lined wedding marquee, a rustic wine cellar and the historic 163-year-old homestead make this venue a totally delightful spot for those ‘just married feels’.

         When I enter the tree-lined driveway of this glorious Estate, I breathe.  You can’t but help relax instantly and any tension you may have had building up in your shoulders, or any stresses about the busyness of the day, just seem to disappear.  Here at the top of Mt Tamborine you are just that much closer to heaven!  It’s cool, it’s green or golden – depending on the season – and it’s oh so romantic. There are beautiful locations for your wedding ceremony.  A charming non-denominational sandstone chapel, or outdoors at the gorgeous garden arbour that overlooks the lake or in a naturally beautiful spot with the magnificent vineyard as your backdrop.  The beauty of the surrounds in your wedding photographs will resound in your memory forever.

         Sol Gardens is a truly magical location. As you go over the bridge at the creek and through the gates, you are mesmerised.  It’s so natural and pretty.  If you choose the lawn alongside the flowing Creek for your ceremony, it is literally 50 steps to lily pad rock pools, grassy fields, the gorgeous bridge, or the lawn in front of the covered reception area – perfect for post-ceremony games.  Oh, and if you judge the efficiency and effectiveness of a venue by it’s guest loos, this one will pass with flying colours!

         My niece planned 3 days of family events in the week leading up to her wedding for everyone to get to know her husband-to-be’s international family and friends that were travelling from Europe. Some activities were fairly active (we all love hiking) and some were chilled and laid back like an evening of cocktails at her sister’s home with a beautiful view overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There were picnics and games and each event created a wonderful opportunity to exchange stories, bond and soak up the sense of anticipation.

         I can honestly say that my couples have seriously had the most talented Dads. Absolute Bob the Builders! A labour of love, these projects usually span several weekends, involve a few trips to Bunnings, and conclude with a round of beers. Dad’s love the chance to use their creativity and see their handy-work about when they celebrate with their baby girl or top lad!

         Work with your Celebrant to create the best Ceremony.  Not as in hard slog work – but the word here is more like collaborate – to create one that is personal and all about you.  And it’s only going to be bespoke and sound like your very own if you provide loads of input!

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         There is a draft Wedding Ceremony format I give couples that are a little overwhelmed about the Ceremony – What has to be included, what else is it actually saying, how long will it be – in other words “How long do I have to stand in front of my family and friends and be the centre of attention”!
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         It’s a guide only, for those who have no idea where to begin or what shape and form a Ceremony normally takes.  The draft format outlines various traditional elements, and some modern ones, such as: processional, welcome, introduction, acknowledgements/in memory of, the bringing (giving away), the asking, readings, vows, joining or blending families, the ring exchange, kiss, signing, pronouncement and recessional.
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         The introverts love a ‘short and sweet’ ceremony, and are always ready to agree to half the elements in this draft format – a registry-style Ceremony with vows, rings and signing – and it’s done – they’re married!
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         And that is absolutely fine.  But I would not be a very good Celebrant if I left it there and did not ask a few more questions – to get to know more about you, your dreams, future plans, a family tradition you may love, what you like to do in your spare time, what music you like, what you have seen at a friend’s wedding that you loved, or hated!
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         The answers to these questions can make a ceremony entirely unique, whilst still being short, fun and heartfelt if that’s what you want.
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         So do you need some help?  Well, that’s what I’m here for and here’s a neat little list of things you need to consider and talk to your Celebrant about.  Your marriage is yours and yours only, and is like no other.
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
          The exchange of rings
         &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    
         may be a traditional element, but I believe it’s one that should always be included. Thought should be given to this ritual and how family with a meaningful connection to the two of you, such as your parents, grandparents, or children can be included to present the rings as a sign of their love and blessing.
        &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
          Music
         &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    
         that means something to you should be chosen carefully, not to be listened to while everyone stares at the musician or the two of you.  It’s way too awkward!  Instead of pausing the ceremony for a song, play music in the body of the ceremony to accompany some other action, such as a unity ritual or a moment honouring your families.  Think about the tone you want to set for the ceremony and then choose music that amplifies that tone, whether it be sweet, nostalgic, traditional, or alternative.
        &#xD;

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
          Your wedding ceremony should

           feel like you, sound like you,

          .  It should fit you like a hand in a glove.  Your marriage is unlike any other, and your ceremony is the creation and celebration of that marriage.

           As an experienced and accredited Celebrant, I have crafted and planned many wedding ceremonies and can give all sorts of insights into a variety of elements and options. So tell me what you don’t know about Weddings, and in particular, the Ceremony. It’s helpful to have an honest discussion around the topics you know nothing about.

           Fears can spoil your Ceremony and the rest of your special day, so tell me what your concerns are. It is my role to create a Ceremony that will calm or minimise those nerves, and it is important to choose a Celebrant that not only understands this, but has the creative writing skills to create a calming effect in the Ceremony wording. Your personal Vows, however, can be quite emotional and it is an added bonus if the aura and posture of the Celebrant reflects calm.

           Express some ideas you may have. What you have liked that you have seen at other weddings, or online, so I can tweak the idea and make it yours.

           Insist on seeing a draft Ceremony about 6 weeks before the wedding in order that you can review the wording, each reading it separately. It is important to be brutally honest here. Make the changes or highlight where you would like something a little different. Don’t worry – you will not hurt my feelings! It’s your day, your way and there is no Take Two, no chance to do it as you want it the next time.

         Personally, I’m a list queen of note and would not sleep at night if I didn’t know exactly where I was with each and every couple I was marrying – their likes, their dislikes, their love-story, their future plans, the feel of their ceremony, who the important family members are, whether they want the ceremony ‘unplugged’ and so on – making sure the guests know what is expected of them and what their expectations are.

         The 2020-2021 Australian Wedding Industry Report compiled by Easy Weddings, states that the average wedding celebrant cost in Australia is $780.
        &#xD;

&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         When it comes to understanding my cost, which is less than this average, it is really helpful to look at everything I put into creating your Ceremony to ensure the most important part of your wedding day runs seamlessly and sets the perfect tone for the whole day, starting the party before the bride even walks down the aisle!
        &#xD;

         No matter which of these styles you are leaning towards, the actual script will be approximately 20 to 30 minutes, but there is so much more that goes into making your special day preparation completely hassle-free and the actual ceremony flow like sweet treacle.

&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         Consider the travel time, preparation of all the legal documentation, the Celebrant’s arrival at your venue half an hour prior to the Ceremony to connect with your planners, musicians and photographers to ensure everyone is ready and on the same page, and at least half an hour after the ceremony to check everything is correctly completed and packed down.
        &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
         Celebrants also often help with the gathering of family for the various formal photographs – we are the ones with the mic in hand after all! And Celebrants often assist with moving flowers from the chapel or outdoor location, to the reception venue.  I know I do!  And not forgetting about candles or sand containers that have been used in beautiful ceremony rituals that need to be taken care of and looked after – ensuring they get to the right place for safe-keeping.  This means that the time allocated to your ceremony extends far beyond that 20-30 minutes.

         Whichever dreamy style you choose, each wedding ceremony requires three hours for personal or video appointments, and at least two hours for communications by email and phone. Hearing your stories and what matters to you both is so important to creating a warm and heartfelt ceremony.  I journey with you, guide you and become a part of your family in the months leading up to your wedding, on the day and after your ceremony is over.
